Why do some Puerto Ricans always try & deny there African Heritage?

Look At Rosie Perez,Don Omar,Roberto Clemente,Lala Vasquez,Felix Trinidad,Roberto clemente,ect,ect. All are of %100 Puerto Rican but of Black or Mixed heritage.The ones like Daddy Yankee or J-Lo have more Spanish blood but still have black in them.I live in Brooklyn & it seems like many Puerto Ricans get offended if you mention they have black in them.I'm Caribbean as well(Guyanese) We have many black or mixed people there,BUT we also have alot of East Indians, so we consider ourselves whatever our Ancestors were,But we are all Guyanese.Many Puerto Ricans try & tell them have some sort of Carib/Arawak in them but look at all the other Caribbean Islands (Jamaica,Cuba,Haiti,Trinidad & tobago,Barbados,Grenada) Virtually all of the were wiped out a long time ago)I also know know that there are white Spanish Ancestry(Malcom in the middle is Puerto Rican) BUT they clearly look it. Most Puerto Ricans I see have some black in them.I'm spefically refering to Puero Ricans.This is a serious question,not meant to offend people.
