Is it be possible to take a firearm apart (hand gun, semi auto, shotgun ect.) and mail the individual pieces?

i like to find loop holes in things and i was wondering about this. i couldnt seem to find info anywhere so i fig. id give yahoo a shot. i relize the terms of transfering a weapon, this is a hypothetical question. also i mean to mail the pieces in separate packages.
