I washed my suede boots with water and now they changed color?

my suede boots got muddy and i didnt know you were supposed to wait for the mud to dry and then brush it off or whatever, and i washed the muddy parts with water (not the whole boot) and now the parts that i washed with water seem to have changed color and the texture feels different. is there anything to do to make the color+texture change back?
